Pandemic

Since March 2020 the COVID Pandemic has presented the Trust with multiple challenges but with continuous learning. We have responded well and pulled together with multiple teams to ensure patients and staff are fully supported.

Avon Ward

Avon Ward is a 22 bedded unit with 10 side rooms so as a team we have been at the forefront to care for patients with COVID throughout the pandemic. Although this is a challenging role you will learn, develop and gain key clinical skills:

 

· Care of the deteriorating patient

· Oxygen therapy and titration

· Infection control procedures

· Diabetes control and treatment with steroid therapy

· End of life care

We work closely with the following teams to ensure the patient gets the very best care sharing knowledge and supporting the ethos of collaborative working and partnership.

· Critical Care Outreach, Acute Respiratory Team, Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Palliative Care, Complex Discharge Team and AHP Therapies.

What we need from you?

This is a highly rewarding role but you must be self-motivated with a can do attitude, enthusiastic with a positive outlook and be willing to upskill your clinical skills within a supportive learning environment. You will need to be resilient and adaptive in your approach alongside being highly sensitive, kind, caring and compassionate to both your patients and your team.
