Trainee Forensic Psychologist in Milton Keynes

Chadwick Lodge in Milton Keynes is recruiting a Forensic Psychologist in Training, who has GBR with the British Psychological Society. 

You will have completed stage 1 of the BPS’s training route to becoming a Forensic Psychologist, which must be an accredited Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology and enable the successful candidate to be registered on to Stage 2 with the BPS. You will have extensive experience as a Trainee Forensic Psychologist already or as an Assistant Psychologist in a forensic setting, or equivalent. 

As a Forensic Psychologist in Training, you will enjoy being part of an established friendly and supportive Psychology department. Chadwick Lodge has a variety of different care pathways, including male and female secure services.  

This post will see you work primarily within the men’s pathway, providing assessment, formulation, therapies and interventions to service users with complex needs. These needs include violence and sexual offending interventions, mental health needs and substance misuse treatments.

There is an opportunity to work on a new personality disorder intervention service and opportunities to gain a full range of experience to meet the BPS’s core roles within stage 2. You will receive BPS accredited supervision and be fully supported in completing all stage 2 requirements.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Applicants must have an undergraduate psychology degree AND a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology, which meets stage 1 requirements for the BPS’s route to chartership as a forensic psychologist
• Previous experience of working in a forensic setting. Those working in prison settings as group workers and/or other forensic settings and/or with prior experience of personality disorder would be particularly welcome
• Creative thinking, clinical efficacy and a strong commitment to working with evidenced-based models of therapeutic intervention.
• To be computer literate
• Good interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
