PAID SUMMER JOB WITH NCS- Here at LEBC we run the National Citizen Service (NCS) for hundreds of teenagers in Leicester, Leicestershire, Coventry, Solihull, Rugby, Leamington, Warwick and Stratford and we recruit over 100 University students every Summer to work on the programme. NCS is the UK’s biggest personal development programme for 16 to 17 year olds, and mainly runs in the summer holidays. This is no ordinary summer job, you learn and develop just as much as the young people do and the experiences are transferable to all future careers aspirations from medicine, to sport, to project management and beyond. Jobs are available for 2 to 6 weeks in June through to September.
NCS Mentor/Team Leader - Paid Role in Summer 2022
We are looking to hire responsible, energetic and confident individuals who are passionate about supporting young people to achieve great things! We are looking for various levels of experience to fulfil various staff roles, all of which are to provide the supervision, motivation and inspiration to all participants to ensure they engage with and enjoy the NCS experience this Summer.

Team Leader: You will safely lead a team of 16 young people (aged 16 and 17) through the NCS programme. You must be enthusiastic, full of positive energy, have experience in leading others and have a good sense of fun balanced with responsibility. Responsibilities include delivering activities created by NCS, ensuring risk assessments are being adhered to and completing paperwork complaint with LEBC policies and procedures.
Location: LEBC are responsible for NCS programmes in the East & West Midlands. We are recruiting staff in the following locations: Leicester, Leicestershire, Melton, Corby, Coventry, Rugby, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire and Leamington.
Programme Dates: The NCS programme is 2 weeks long, with multiple programmes running between June and August. You will be required to work a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks* (1 programme) and a maximum of 8 weeks (more than 1 programme).
*In some instances we can make allowances if you are only available for one week.

What is the NCS programme?
National Citizen Service (NCS) is a youth development programme, and a once-in-a-life-time experience open to all 15-17 year olds across England and Northern Ireland that helps fast track their future. It is the largest youth development programme in the country and is a key part of the government Step Up To Serve campaign.
Programme Format:
Week 1 Adventure Residential - Monday AM to Friday PM
Camping or Dorm Rooms at an Outdoor Pursuits Centre – transport is provided. Your role is to quickly build a rapport with your team of 16 teenagers, to lead them through the activities, support and motivate them at all times, ensuring Health & Safety is paramount at all times.
Week 2 Social Action Project in a venue local to your team- Monday to Friday 9am-4pm (some flexibility with this is required).
You will lead, support and motivate your team to complete their Social Action Project, ensuring Health & Safety is paramount at all times. The team will complete activities such as campaigning, fundraising or revamping to benefit the local community and make a difference.
