We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our in-house Clinical Team in an Outstanding rated SEN school. We have an established clinical supervision framework and you will be part of a clinical specialty supported by our Development & Strategic Lead for Occupational Therapy.
The post holder will maintain and develop clinical delivery within a setting where the needs of the young people vary in levels of functioning; many with a diagnosis of autism alongside associated needs including ADHD and developmental trauma. Needs are complex and require a systemic and formulation-based approach. You may be looking for a new challenge or seeking to work within a different setting. With the full support of our established and knowledgeable Clinical Team, you will also contribute to staff training, consultation and reflective practice
Our Clinical Team maintain a nurturing and loving environment where our children can flourish, always putting our children and young people at the forefront of everything they do. All our settings maintain a strong safeguarding culture, and our children and young people are heard, respected and involved in decisions that affect them wherever possible. When it comes to looking after our children, we strive for excellence, which is why we are the leading children services provider in the UK. With this in mind, we are looking for an Occupational Therapist who shares our vision; to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK to be happy and to make their way in the world.
About the Role
You will be responsible for providing individual, specialist assessments and carrying out informed interventions to meet the occupational, physical, and sensory needs of our children and young people at a universal, targeted and specialist level. This will include the provision of direct one-to-one sessions or group activities as part of the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
As directed by the Clinical Lead the role will also involve the provision of advice, information and training to staff, other members of the clinical/wellbeing and multi-professional teams, commissioners and other agencies regarding issues relevant to autism, learning difficulties, developmental trauma and associated conditions including children and young people who present with behaviours which challenge.
Multi-professional working is essential to our aim to provide a high-quality service that promotes the wellbeing and interests of the children and young people it supports. Collaborative working and integration of Occupational Therapy and therapy support within the day to day running of each provision is a key part of this role.
