About the role
We are looking for a RD&A technologist for our RD&A team located in Coleraine.
As member of a very busy team, the person will collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure successful launches are achieved on time and to budget.
The individual will manage RD&A new product and packaging developments, ensuring that accurate and timely information is supplied to the associated site teams as well as to the customer.

Key responsibilities
- Owner of Product development from customer brief, scale up trials & customer launch.
- Responsible for product costing.
- Maintain good customer communication & presentation.
- Responsible for co-ordinating NPD recipes on Optiva along with required paperwork
- Lead in raw material & supplier approval in MDG in line with site process
- Develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Co-ordinate RD&A commercialisation process between customer and commercialization team
- Support site packaging, regulatory and quality team with the artwork process.
- Maintain customer Focus for ingredient and packaging developments within the marketplace.
- Sample Creation and dispatch to customers
- Remain fully flexible to meet business requirement.

Qualifications and skills
- Degree in Food Science (or related topic) or previous relevant experience in the Food /Manufacturing Industry
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience in SAP and Optiva systems an advantage
- Able to work accurately and quickly in a fast moving environment.
- Able to work on your own initiative and pay attention to detail.
- Fluency in English
- Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
