Kier Construction is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Manchester. Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

As a Quantity Surveyor at Kier Construction, you will be instrumental in managing and optimising project costs from inception to completion. Your role will ensure value for money while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

What might your duties include?

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans 
  • Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs.
  • Manage procurement processes, including tender preparation and evaluation.
  • Monitor and control project finances, managing variations and preparing detailed financial reports.
  • Conduct risk, value management, and cost control exercises.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the project's success.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior team members as required.

What We Are Looking For

This role is ideal for you if:

  • You hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • You have experience as a quantity surveyor, preferably within a main contracting environment.
  • You possess strong knowledge of construction processes, contract law, and industry regulations.
  • You have a proven track record in cost planning, budget management, and financial reporting.
  • You are proficient in using industry-specific software and tools.
  • You have excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • You are detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
