About the role

Due to a retirement, we have an exciting new opportunity at our Hartlepool manufacturing site for a Quality Systems Lead. This role involves overseeing our Quality Management System to ensure full compliance with the Kerry Manufacturing Standard (KMS), Site Food Security and Food Safety Programs, Group Regulatory policies, Product specifications, and all other Customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding and high level of awareness of food quality policies, procedures, and systems.

 

The Quality Systems Lead will provide Technical systems support to the Quality and Production teams to ensure there is a standardised approach to all QMS activities on site.

What will I be doing?

  • Maintaining site Quality Management System (QMS) framework procedures ensuring agreed updates and amendments are implemented, controlled in the Intelex system and audited at the required frequency.
  • Develop and standardize the site HACCP plans and associated documentation in line with Kerry Global HACCP Standard. Ensure all schedules regarding HACCP review meetings, validation, training and auditing are completed in full.
  • Responsible for managing all external audits with a primary focus on Quality Management Systems. Responsible for audit corrective action responses including closure and reporting of Non-Compliance Corrective Actions.
  • Build sustainable relationships with centralized functions to ensure the smooth introduction of new processes, Ways of Working and materials to site. E.g. Food Safety Team and Raw Materials.
  • Ensuring that an Approved Supplier Programme is in place and that Central Group functions are fully supporting the site by maintaining all database information relating to all raw material and packaging specifications.
  • Ensuring that Customer Technical Management Systems are updated and maintained as required and all central technical requests are responded to in a timely manner via the SFCD system.
  • Set up & maintain a raw material testing schedule in SAP.
  • Responsible for Customer Complaint handling, responses, reporting and trending.
  • Responsible for ensuring there are robust Quality induction at on boarding and Quality refresher training programmes in place.
  • Continuously improve standards set by facilitating and executing practical problem-solving activity, root cause analysis and other appropriate methodologies within the Quality function.

  • Experienced and proficient quality professional with a good eye for detail and an understanding of Food Safety, Quality Management Systems and BRC Global Food Standard.
  • Degree or equivalent in Food science/technology related subject.
  • Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills, fluency of English.
  • Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key processing data.
  • SAP experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels up and down.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
