Job Title: Commercial Manager

Salary: Up to £62,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

• This role is to work with the Senior Commercial Manager to oversee and deliver ~£100m of business in our Radar sector within the Products group with the BAE Systems Maritime Services business unit
• This will require the candidate to be able to operate at both a strategic and tactical level through the direct ownership of delivering the commercial aspects of specific projects as well as providing guidance and support to the Radar Senior Commercial Manager to ensure high levels of both operational and functional performance
• The candidate will need to be able to provide hands on commercial management within complex domestic and export bids and projects. Activities will include the leading of negotiations, developing pricing and business winning strategies and obtaining internal approvals
• In addition the candidate will be seen as one of the senior members of the Products commercial team and will require the successful candidate to play an active role in the management and development of the overall commercial team
• The candidate should be able to develop, maintain excellent working relationships with both internal and external customers and stakeholders
• The candidate will need established and strong commercial/contractual skills gained from a commercial career in the defence or adjacent industries.

Your skills and experiences:

• Established Commercial background within the military/defence sector for both UK MOD and export customers
• In depth professional knowledge of Commercial principles, techniques and practices with an understanding of how Commercial roles fit in to an organisation as a whole
• Comfortable with working with both detailed contractual issues as well as broader holistic strategic objectives
• Strong analytical and numerical skills and proficient with all Microsoft Office products
• Confident presenting and communication skills
