Recovery Coordinator in Wallsend

Turning Point is looking for an Recovery Coordinator in Wallsend

Job description

Job Introduction

Please Note: A Full UK Driving License and Access to a Vehicle is an Essential Requirement due to the Outreach Nature of the Role

As a Young Persons Recovery Coordinator you’ll work with numerous agencies to help make a difference to the lives in your community. Working in a variety of settings, you’ll develop personal, flexible and realistic support packages based on people’s individual circumstances. In this busy role, no two days will be the same as you manage a large, interesting caseload without compromising on quality.

You will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey and clearly defined career pathways that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.

Whether you are looking to progress into a management and leadership role or to be a specialist in your field as an Advanced Substance Use Practitioner at Turning point we will support and encourage you on your career journey.

Role Responsibility

You will support a caseload of Young People and Young Adults; undertaking assessments, developing person centred recovery plans and running evidence based substance use interventions in groups and on a 1:2:1 basis. You will deliver interventions both face to face and via telephone and video technology where appropriate.

Multi-agency working with partner agencies including Youth Offending Teams, Schools, Police, Children’s Homes and Social Services is an essential part of this role. You will spend your time out and about, working within an outreach approach. This work includes going into Schools and colleges across the borough providing presentations to groups and seeing young people wherever the need is identified.

As the role of Young Persons Recovery Coordinator is a fast-paced one, that means plenty of variety and challenges to get your teeth stuck into – and a lot of work, too. So, we’ll expect you to approach things methodically and think on your feet.

The role may include some outreach across North Tyneside so there is an expectation that you will manage your own diary to make the best use of your time.

The Ideal Candidate

Building on your previous experience of working with young people with substance use issues or within a similar working environment, you’ll have the ability to co-ordinate and complete care plans and assessments, possess knowledge of substance use issues and ideally, have a relevant qualification and a driving license. Highly motivated and driven to make a real difference, your work ethic will be strong too – as will your written and verbal communication skills. Above all, we’re looking for personality. People with the confidence and passion to fit well into the team and truly help to turn lives around.

The ability to engage with young people and young adults is a fundamental skill required for this role.
