Job Title: Education Support Worker
Location: Oakham Shires School, Rutland, LE15 6JB
Salary: £19,512.50 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00-15:30
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Education Support Worker to join our close-knit team.
About the role
As an Education Support Worker, you will be providing support to the teacher and students. You will work with individual and small groups of students on educational and EHCP activities.
You will assist teachers in setting short term targets to support students towards achieving longer term goals. The role has a particular focus on supporting our students with the behavioural, emotional and mental health challenges, so patience, flexibility and role-model behaviour are important attributes.
Due to the nature of the role, we would be particularly interested in applications from applicants who have experience of SEN students, from a residential setting or in their personal life.
UK Driving licence - we require this as our pupils often have days out into the local area, this will allow you to make sure they are experiencing fulfilling days out and activities!
About the school
Oakham Shires School is an Independent Special School for 11-18 year olds who are Autistic and have associated diagnosis and special education needs. The school delivers a primary curriculum to secondary aged pupils who have struggled to cope in a mainstream or larger SEN educational setting and are, as a result, working below age expected stage. Pupils are taught in small class groups of 4 -5 with a high staff to pupil ratio. Pupils are supported to achieve their Outcomes within their Education Health Care Plan, develop life skills and achieve accreditations in Maths, English and Science.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.
