Job description

Job Title: IT Leader – Project Manager

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £65,000 with executive car allowance and benefits on top

What you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing and managing a portfolio of IT projects, ensuring the alignment with organisational goals and objectives whilst prioritising based on strategic value, resource availability, and risk
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to define portfolio strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives, reviewing and adjusting the portfolio to respond to changes in business strategy or external factors
  • Manage a team of project managers and allocate them across the portfolio to ensure optimal use of skills and capabilities to provide leadership, guidance and mentoring
  • Develop, manage and track portfolio budget and performance ensuring that projects are delivered within financial constraints
  • Regularly report on the status, health, performance of the portfolio to executive leadership
  • Implement and maintain governance frameworks to ensure consistent project delivery across the portfolio
  • Develop the skills and capabilities of the project management team, identifying training and development needs

Your skills and experiences:

  • Have a proven track record of delivering large scale IT programmes and be able to apply good financial acumen, strategic thinking, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of Project Managers and working cross-functionally to support delivery
  • Have a strong understanding/knowledge of current IT trends and technologies

Desirable

  • AMP, PRINCE2, Chartered PM,
  • Have experience in the Engineering Industry

The Project Management Team:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team, foster new and existing relationships across a large Enterprise and deliver Projects that improve the Build, Test & Commissioning of Submarines. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria
