Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: The Wenlock School, Dudley, West Midlands
Salary: Up to £25,320 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday 08:15 - 16:30, Tuesday - Friday 08:15 - 15:45
Contract: Term Time only, Fixed Term until 21.07.2025 (however this could be extended depending on the number of pupils who continue to attend the school)

As part of our continued growth in service, we require an experienced Cover Supervisor who has the ability to make a significant contribution to The Wenlock School, part of Acorn Education.
About the role
We require an experienced Cover Supervisor who has the ability to make a significant contribution to our school. The successful candidate will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn. We are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards who can offer excellent behavioural management skills. An additional strength would be a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning for pupils with SEND.
You will play a significant role in supporting the operationally running of the school. You will be responsive and adaptable to changing circumstances and cover lessons as a teacher or provide additional support as a Teaching Assistant and/or Learning Support Assistant. You will be able to cover the wide breadth of different subjects across different Key Stages. In the absence of the normal class teacher, you will lead and facilitate learning, so the progress of pupils isn’t hindered in the absence of the class teacher. You will be an effective communicator and provide an overview to the class teacher of what work is covered so learning can continue to progress.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with autistic spectrum condition or pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required. We are looking for an individual who is able to help inspire and engage the young people that we serve. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment. Previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.

The Wenlock School opened in September 2018. We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7-18 with a range of complex needs including a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.
