We are looking for chess tutors in Birmingham, primarily to work in schools. Successful candidates will undergo free training and paid shadowing (£12.50 per hour). Trained tutor pay starts at £42 for one hours work + travel.
You do not need to be a chess master, rather you need an interest in chess and the relevant skills to teach.
Social and emotional skills such as communication and empathy are key to teaching effectively. Also, reliability is crucial, as our lessons occur at set times every week.
The bulk of our work is delivered in schools, either in the form of curriculum time lessons or after school clubs.
Successful candidates will need an Enhanced DBS check to work in schools.
All candidates must have the full right to work in the UK as the work is self employed. A student visa is insufficient for paid work but it is still possible to volunteer.
