Overview

Gallagher Specialty Division is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join Change and Transformation team and contribute to the division’s digital innovation projects and development of online tools and platforms used by our trading teams.

 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Business Analyst, and an understanding of the Lloyd's market or general insurance industry and a passion for driving digital transformation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that will shape the future of our Specialty business.

 

You will work and collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and designers, to gather and analyse business requirements.

Gallagher Specialty represents the London Market broking arm of Gallagher, working with large multinationals and insurance brokers worldwide, providing bespoke programme design, risk placement and consulting support across a range of industries. 

 

A number of our divisions are market leaders; delivering global solutions for some of the largest and most complex risks that modern businesses and organisations face. This includes clients in the Aerospace, Construction, Financial Services, and Sports sectors.

About the team 

 

The Gallagher Specialty projects team is made up of experienced Business Analysts, Project Managers and Business Change Managers.  The team of 12 is growing due to the impressive growth of the Specialty Division and are currently working on a number of large, high-profile projects supporting the trading divisions. 

 

The team support all stakeholder levels and also collaborate with departmental operations teams as well as our Global Centre of Excellence (GCoE). 


How you'll make an impact

  • Develop detailed business requirements documentation, including user stories, use cases, process flows, and wireframes, to effectively communicate project objectives and specifications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and understanding of project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit requirements, gather feedback, and drive consensus among stakeholders and to manage expectation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments to evaluate the viability and potential risks of proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate with developers and quality assurance teams to ensure accurate implementation and testing of solutions.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or roadblocks, and propose solutions to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital innovation and online broking tools and platforms.
  • Continuously improve business analysis processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst gained in the general insurance industry or Lloyd's market is essential.
  • Experience in digital innovation projects or the development of business tools and platforms - specifically Quote and Bind tools - would be an advantage.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies, such as user stories, use cases, process flows, and wireframing.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
  • Knowledge of digital technologies, online broking tools, and platforms, including but not limited to mobile applications, web development, APIs, and data analytics.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for driving innovation and staying ahead of industry trends.
