So many obligations but so little time. You can probably relate to this. Deadlines just keep coming at you and you can’t stop time. But you can apply these useful tips and deal with tight deadlines like a pro!

Prioritize

First of all, make your priorities straight. Yes, partying until 3 am is much more fun than studying. But, will you have the same opinion when you flunk the test?

Think about everything that you need to do and prioritize all the obligations. What is the most important task? Which exam is the hardest?

Once you figure it all out, make a list. You want to put it all down on paper, trust me. Your brain doesn’t need more pressure.

Clear your schedule

Monday is binge-watching Netflix day. On Tuesday you have lunch with Becky. On Wednesday you are going to movies. On Thursday you need to help John find a new scuba diving suit. Guess what? Your schedule is about to change.

It’s awesome if you have a rich social life but for a week or more you’ll need to press pause.

When exams start knocking on your door, your schedule should become a blank page. If you keep up with all your daily activities, you can say goodbye to good grades.

Deal with the hardest task first

If you break a leg and then cut your finger a moment later, it won’t hurt at all, right? Well, the same goes for your obligations.

Handle the hardest lectures and exams first and everything else will seem like a piece of cake.

It will take a ton of willpower to make yourself do it, but it will be torture if you do it last. Get that shitty exam you hate out of your way ASAP. Then easily continue with the rest of it.

Organize

It’s organization time. If you want to make this work, you need to organize all obligations.

Besides the final deadlines, you should set milestones. It’s much easier if you break it down into smaller steps.

When you open a hundred-page book it can look like someone challenged you to climb Mount Everest in flip flops. But if you say to yourself that you need to learn 25 pages in 3 days, well that is doable.

Rely on technology

Why would you struggle with remembering deadlines when an app can do it for you? There is only one thing you need to remember – the time-management app is your new best friend.

Get this, you just need to add the important dates and set reminders. It will help you remember when you need to start studying and when your exams are. There will be no need for you to stress about remembering it all.

Your mom will also be grateful because she won’t have to serve as your reminder anymore.

Be realistic

Do you want to prepare the whole exam in 3 hours? Yeah, we all want that but it’s not going to happen.

Better use those 3 hours to start on the next task. Be realistic about your possibilities. Never waste your valuable time on impossible tasks. There is no point.

If you are reading this and you have an exam tomorrow which you haven’t prepared, don’t blame me if you fail. Accept that you won’t make it this time, and move on to the next one.

Get some backup

When times get hard to find someone to be your partner in crime. There is no need for you to try to be a Superman. Admit it if you won't have the time to manage everything.

Having trouble with writing an essay? Find an expert’s opinion on how to write an essay fast?

Can’t solve a math assignment? Get someone to do it for you. Just kidding. But you can get a math tutor and speed it up.

Get yourself a team that will crush those deadlines like a bug.

Embrace late-night studying

In the perfect world, you learn everything just in time and get your beauty sleep each night. Unfortunately, this world is far from perfect.

I know that it is hard to resist your comfy sheets but sometimes you’ll need to say no.

When the deadline starts breathing down your neck you need to accept that it’s coffee and late-night studying time.

No one can argue that sleeping is important, but so is passing your tests. Sacrificing a few hours of sleep is worth it in the long run. So head down to Starbucks, move your head away from the bed, and get going.

Prepare yourself for all scenarios

You have probably figured it out that things don’t always go as planned. That is why you need to prepare for unplanned events.

Think of a plan in case you don’t pass the exam. Most importantly, leave some space between studying. You may think that you’ll need a week to prepare, but the universe can have different plans.

Show the universe who’s the boss. Plan some extra hours or days when you can catch up with the lectures that need improvement.

Concentrate

Nothing in the world will help you if you can’t focus on studying. Having a calm and quiet place to study is the very basis.

In case you have a Full House situation in your home, go to the study room. Find a nice park. Or, go to a friend's house. Just find your sanctuary.

Being relax is a must if you want to improve your concentration.

You must be thinking “How the F can I relax when I have so much to do.” But can you change something? No. So why stress about it?

As long as you organize yourself and give your best, there is nothing to worry about.
